We had our lunch at the Google location in Irvine- our prize from the App Jam. It was a BLAST, but of course, we were all trying really hard to be cool so none of us took any photos. But we can confirm that it is a glorious place of fun and magic. For real.
Anyways, back to Smart Dresser. Our goal is to eventually release Smart Dresser for free so that anyone can download and use it. To do that, we have to tackle a bunch of bugs that currently exist in the app. This is more challenging than dubugging a regular software program for a PC because there are soooo many mobile devices out there - phones, tablets, phablets... all using different versions of the Android operating system.
For example, Aneesha's Android phone seems to have no trouble taking photos for the clothing items and storing them in the database, but the new Nexus 7 tablet refuses to save the images when creating or editing a clothing item. The only way to get around this is to take the photo first, then open the app, and then assign the image to the item. Not quite the way we want it to work...
And then there are all the aesthetic bugs that are simply small adjustments to the layouts so that they look the best they can possibly look on as many devices as possible. Not too worried about these since they don't affect functionality.
Fun stuff! Thanks so much for reading. Keep an eye out for more posts. They will get more ridiculous and desperate as we approach our doom - er... deadline.
